TOUR OVERVIEW

A spiritual discovery journey to the other side of the world, exploring the rich and often overlooked Islamic heritage of South America. From the grand mosques of Sao Paulo to the stunning landscapes of Rio de Janeiro, this tour traces five centuries of Muslim presence in Brazil, from the Caliphate of Cordoba and the African slave trade to modern-day communities. Experience vibrant cities, breathtaking coastlines, colonial villages, and meaningful encounters with local Muslim communities across this extraordinary destination.

Day 1: Sao Paulo International Airport – Sao Paulo

Exclusive Halal half-board arrangements

South America, known as "Al Ard Al Madzhula" in old Arabic maps by El Idrissi of Islamic Sicily (1154), has seen five main waves of Muslim arrival throughout history: the Caliphate of Cordoba in Al Andalus, the refugee wave escaping the Inquisition after the fall of Granada in 1492, the African slave trade, the decline of the Ottoman Empire from 1850 to 1920, and 20th-century migrations following events in Palestine, Lebanon, and the Middle East. Today we begin our discovery tour in Sao Paulo, one of the largest cities in the world with more than 22 million inhabitants and the historical and economic centre of Brazil. With more than four hundred years of Muslim presence, African Muslims first arrived through the slave trade and wielded expressive cultural and social influence, triggering numerous freedom revolts including the famous Males uprising of 1835. We enjoy a panoramic tour of the city's most beautiful spots with a highlight visit to the grand Central Mosque, Mezquita Brazil, over 100 years old and the largest mosque in Sao Paulo. We will enjoy our prayers and a meet and greet with the local community, followed by a panoramic visit to Avenida Paulista, Republic Square, and other city highlights. Dinner and overnight in Sao Paulo.

Day 2: Sao Paulo – FAMBRAS & City Highlights

This morning we visit FAMBRAS, the Federation of Muslim Associations in Brazil, the largest Islamic federation in South and Central America and the largest Halal meat and chicken certificatory and distributor to the entire Muslim world. Afterwards we enjoy a panoramic tour including the Centro Cultural Banco Do Brasil, Batman Alley, Grand Cathedral of Sao Paulo, and the Estadio do Morumbi football stadium.
