Larnaca, located on the southern coast of Cyprus, is a city that will add a spiritual culture and history to your visit. Larnaka is the third largest city in Cyprus and is known for the many attractions and activities it offers. The city is home to inspiring historic religious sites and monuments, beautiful golden beaches, a palm tree lined harbor and so much more. When we think about Europe's Islamic history, Cyprus is unlikely to be foremost in our minds, but the East Mediterranean island's links to the faith date back well over 1300 years. While a significant part of this heritage dates back to Ottoman rule, some can be traced all the way back to the Sahaba. While the site's Ottoman Mosque and the nearby salt lake may catch one's eye in the first instance, its most unique feature is the tomb of Umm Haram bint Milhan — the aunt of the Prophet Muhammad — who died on the island in the 640s, during the reign of the rightly guided Caliph, Uthman. Today we will visit all city main highlights including Hala Sultan Tekke, the Tomb of Sayidatunaa Ummu Haram, and the Old Historical City near the Republic of Cyprus' main airport in the coastal city of Larnaca. We will bring a visit to a present active Mosque to do our prayers together with the local present Muslim community.

This morning we will bring a visit to Cape Greco. Start your trip by seeing the beautiful landmarks of southeast Cyprus. Head out eastwards from Larnaca along the stunning coastal highway towards the famous village of Ayia Napa. The area is replete with incredible beaches, with Nissi Beach having a reputation for being a paradise that can be enjoyed all year round. Nearby Ayia Napa village also has lots of great sights, including the 15th century Monastery where the village takes its name. Continue on to the beautiful enclave at Cape Greco, an oasis of tranquility next to the sea. Visit Nissi Beach, a paradise of white sand and turquoise waters, perfect for swimming and relaxation. Explore the historic Monastery of Ayia Napa, a peaceful landmark in the heart of the village. Stop at the famous Bridge of Love, a natural rock formation where couples declare their love. End your journey at Cape Greco, a National Forest Park offering spectacular views of the Mediterranean and a perfect sunset spot. Visit the old historic town, once enclosed within the Medina walls, full of monumental churches (originally Mosques), some dating back to the 10th century, featuring the typical Islamic urban layout of the neighborhoods, very similar to a Medina in Fez, Baghdad or Damascus, the so-called "Kasbah", with narrow streets acting as a distinctive sign. While enjoying the sunset we will continue back to Larnaca for Maghreb and Ishaa prayers at Hala Sultan Tekke, the Tomb of Sayidatunaa Ummu Haram.

Panoramic tour through the beautiful Cypriot landscapes rich in Islamic history and Muslim roots, towards Nicosia. Visit Nicosia, the divided capital of Cyprus and the only divided capital city in the world. This city is a perfect mix of ancient and modern with massive Venetian Walls, beautiful architecture and monuments in contrast with shopping malls, office towers and outlet stores. The wonders of Nicosia is an exceptional example of artistic syncretism in which elements of Western architecture are found combined with Muslim Arab and Byzantine architecture. We first make a short stop at the Cyprus handcrafts centre to discover the traditional crafts and products of the island before we reach the city centre. Once we get to the city we will have a short drive around the main monuments and places of interest. We then stop inside the walls close to the old town where you have around 3 and a half hours free time to explore the old part of Nicosia, visit the Ledra street border crossing or wander the narrow lanes of the Laiki Yeitonia area, shopping for souvenirs. You also have the chance to cross the barrier (the "Green Line") that divides the Cypriot capital city of Nicosia into the southern Cypriot region and the northern, Turkish controlled Cypriot region since the Turkish invasion in 1974. Please note that passports are required if you wish to cross the border. After our visit while enjoying the sunset we will continue back to Larnaca for Maghreb and Ishaa prayers at Hala Sultan Tekke, the Tomb of Sayidatunaa Ummu Haram.
