Ziaarat Ardu Al Awliyaa Wa Ardu Shuhadaa - A Spiritual Discovery Tour to Revive the Lost Soul and Islamic History of a Lost Kingdom
7 Days 6 Nights
Journey through centuries of Islamic history in Sicily on this spiritual discovery tour. From Palermo, once the capital of the Muslim Emirate for nearly 300 years, to the ancient mosques, fortifications, and Berber mountain villages scattered across the island, this 7-day tour reveals the rich and often forgotten Islamic heritage that shaped Sicilian culture, architecture, language, and traditions.
Half-board (Dinner)
A discovery tour of Palermo, known as "Bal Alharm" in Arabic, one of the major cities of Italy and the historical capital of Sicily. Palermo was conquered in 831 by the Islamic Abbasid Empire from North Africa and became the main capital of the Muslim Emirate of Sicily until 1072, almost 300 years under central Islamic control. The city continued in brave rebellion for almost 200 years against the Norman Kings and crusaders until 1250. Visit the most beautiful historical mosques including "Al Jamm'e Al Akbar", also known as the Cathedral of Palermo, where a marble pillar at the main gate is inscribed with verses from the Holy Quran (Surat Al Aaraaf verse 7:54). Visit the immense and spiritual ruins of "San Giovanni degli Eremiti", once the largest Mosque and Madrassa of Palermo, and an active mosque for prayers with the local Muslim community. Overnight in Palermo.

Full board (Lunch & Dinner)
Visit "Calatafimi Segesta", in Arabic "Kal'at al-Fimi", founded during Muslim domination around a Byzantine fortification. It was one of the first towns conquered by the Muslims from North Africa and later became one of the last bastions of Muslim resistance against the Christian Crusaders. Tour through the beautiful valley of Segesta to the ancient remains of the last official Grand Mosque in Sicily, with its Mihrab niche still correctly oriented toward Mecca. Continue to the coastal city of Marsala, which the Muslim Arabs called "Marsa Allah" meaning "The Port of Allah". Enjoy a traditional Sicilian couscous lunch before visiting Mazara del Vallo, whose old historic town features a typical Islamic urban layout similar to a Medina in Fez, Baghdad, or Damascus, known as the "Kasbah". End the day at the hilltop town of Erice with spectacular panoramic views and the "Al Jafar" castle, named after Ja'far al-Kalbi II, an Emir who ruled Sicily from 998 to 1019. Overnight in Palermo.

Full board (Lunch & Dinner)
Panoramic tour through beautiful Sicilian landscapes rich with Islamic history. Visit the wonders of Arab-Norman Palermo spread between the historical centre and the towns of Cefalu and Monreale, home to two cathedrals (originally mosques) that symbolize the rich Islamic Heritage of the Emirate of Sicily. These splendid examples of Muslim Arab Heritage were included by UNESCO in the World Heritage List in 2015. Enjoy a delicious seaside lunch in Cefalu before continuing to the world-famous village of Corleone. The etymology of the name derives from the Arabic "Kurulliun / Qurlayun", originating from a Muslim Arab fighter named "Kurliyun" who conquered it for the Aghlabids in 840. The town housed a mosque called "Masjid Al-Bariy" and served as a refuge for fleeing Muslims. In 1208, a Muslim uprising succeeded in retaking the town from Christian rule. The rock formation Castello Soprano still has a Saracen lookout tower, and the Castello Sottano is known as "Castello di Saraceni". Transfer and overnight in Enna.

Half-board (Dinner)
Discovery tour of Enna, the highest provincial capital in Italy at 948 meters above sea level. The city became the focal point of the Muslim Arab invasion of Sicily. After several failed attempts, the Muslim Arabs conquered Enna through the sewer system in 859, arabizing its Roman name to "Kasr Al Jannah". Visit the Lombard Castle "Kasr Al Jannah" erected on the ruins of a Muslim Arab fortification. Continue to the beautiful Muslim Berber mountain village of Calascibetta, whose name derives from the Arabic "Qal'at Chibat" meaning Military Bastion. It was born in the ninth century as a Muslim military camp. Enjoy a traditional Sicilian Berber lunch before continuing to Agrigento to visit the famous "Valle dei Templi", a UNESCO Heritage Site since 1997.
